It is an almost true, maybe to be debated story of an Air Force, Air Guard sometimes fighter pilot with varying accounts of his airborne and otherwise before and after dark adventures. Joe Bub is a East Texas lad from Kilgore born midway between the two world wars who gets his taste for a military life at Texas A&M at College Station and pursues that taste through life.

Category:

Joe Bub Macruf’s story is an imaginary account of a fighter jock’s encounters and travels through life. Joe Bub does everything the sixteen contributors to the prior book, “The Raggedy Assed Militia” related they had seen, experienced and more. Some of his trials may have been heard bragged about in pilot watering holes here and there around the globe. The actions described could have happened to a multitude of fighter pilots in a past day and time, certainly not in today’s world of social consciousness and big brother watchfulness.

The book written by Hank Smyth is published with the sponsorship of the 136th Wing Silver Eagles Foundation and all profits are pledged to fulfill its mission for members of the Texas Air National Guard in North Texas.
