This story is an imaginary account of the life and encounters of a multi-engined pilot, Billy Jim Bowie of Weatherford, Texas whose flying and otherwise adventures span the time from just before WW II through Desert Storm. He and his cohorts lived and flew in wars and places known to many U.S. Armed Service members of those extraordinary times. The author denies first hand knowledge any of those real life folks but might have overheard some stories in pilot’s watering holes around the earth or under the skies.

Billy Jim Bowie enlisted in the U. 5. Army Air Corps prior to WW II and received his silver wings through the Army Aviation Cadet training. Before he knew it, he was immersed in flying bombing missions against the Germans and Italians in North Africa and then Europe. He was a true many motored pilot and relished the power supplied by large round engines. He followed that multi engine path through his flying career for his country in peace and through later wars.
